2018 CARLA FENDI STEM AWARD
TO HIGGS and ENGLERT
On the stage of the Caio Melisso Carla Fendi Theatre, the seventh edition of the Carla Fendi STEM Award was presented to physicists Peter Higgs and François Englert — both Nobel Prize laureates in Physics in 2013 — and Fabiola Gianotti, particle physicist and Director of CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva.
Maria Teresa Venturini Fendi chose to honor these leading scientific figures so that the prize funds could support educational purposes, in the belief that science and technology must hold a significant place — alongside culture and philanthropy — among the Foundation’s core objectives.
