Frammento Fatica n.26, a work by Daniele Puppi commissioned by the Carla Fendi Foundation for the Spoleto65 Festival dei Due Mondi, has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2023, ahead of the 2024 Compasso d'Oro awards. The best projects, services, and objects from 2022-2023 were selected by the select group of experts coordinating the selection process of the ADI Permanent Design Observatory. The video of Frammento Fatica n.26 was exhibited in Milan from November 7th to 19th at the ADI Design Museum and in Rome from November 27th to December 2nd at the Spazio WeGil. The work was presented in the Exhibition Design category, along with approximately 120 works from other categories and 19 projects by design students from Italian universities selected for this year's award.

Fragmento Fatica n. 26, a site-specific installation commissioned by the Carla Fendi Foundation, is the wall-drawing reworking of a 2004 photographic work by Puppi. As requested by the Foundation, the work covered the façade of the seventeenth-century Caio Melisso Carla Fendi Theatre for the entire duration of Spoleto65 Festival dei Due Mondi.

"I believe that a site-specific work designed to establish a strong connection with a given historical context can positively integrate with urban design, with great visual and conceptual impact, even in an ancient art city like Spoleto," said Maria Teresa Venturini Fendi, "and I appreciate that the intentions, meaning, and contemporary aesthetics of this project were understood and selected for the ADI Design Index."

Since 1999, the ADI Observatory has been searching for the best design throughout Italy, and the opening of the ADI Design Museum in 2022 has made the collection of all the products awarded the Compasso d'Oro since 1954 available for direct consultation by researchers and the general public. This selection, together with the 2022 one, closed a particularly important cycle of ADI Design as a prologue to the XXVIII edition of the Compasso d'Oro, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the institution of the award, born in 1954 from an idea by Gio Ponti to recognize the choice of the best products and services from all sectors of Italian design and creativity.
