FRAMMENTO FATICA N.26

24TH JUNE - 10TH JULY 2022
CAIO MELISSO CARLA FENDI THEATRE - SPOLETO

Daniele Puppi's large installation Frammento Fatica n.26 is part of ArTificial ArTechnology, the event project commissioned and produced by the Carla Fendi Foundation for the Spoleto65 Festival dei Due Mondi. The large wall-drawing, which completely covered the façade of the Caio Melisso Carla Fendi Theatre on Piazza Duomo, in the heart of Spoleto's historic center, was conceived as a reworking of a three-dimensional photographic work that Puppi created in 2004, in four copies, for the Lisson Gallery in London. The gigantic hand of Fragmento Fatica n.26 seems to be trying to support the theater's façade. The artist chose to re-present the work in an oversized version, which in its site-specific setting takes on a new and different connotation. Puppi works by interacting with space and moving within Euclidean coordinates. Conceived as a true work in regress, Puppi's work was born after a gestation period spent within the spaces, during which the artist experiments with the environment and establishes a relationship with it through which he evaluates its limits and potential.
