HONOURABLE MENTION FOR THE CARLA FENDI FOUNDATION

The Carla Fendi Foundation has received a honorable mention at the XXVIII edition of the "Compasso d’Oro" as committioner of the artwork Frammento Fatica n.26 by Daniele Puppi, shown in 2022 in Spoleto during the Spoleto65 Two Worlds Festival.

The large-scale wall-drawing, considered an example of excellence in Exhibition Design, passed the pre-selection process for the ADI Design Index 2023, also receiving the Lazio Design Excellence Award in November 2023.

The international jury, chaired by designer and ADI President Luciano Galimberti, recognized the value of the work, a reworking of Frammento Fatica n.26, which Puppi created in 2004. In its site-specific adaptation commissioned by the Foundation for the Spoleto65 Festival dei Due Mondi, the work covered the façade of the 17th-century Caio Melisso Theatre, whose restoration the Foundation has supported for years and which has therefore been renamed "Caio Melisso Carla Fendi Theatre." Like all the award-winning projects, the video of the work was exhibited during an exhibition at the ADI Design Museum in Milan and remains available to the ADI Compasso d'Oro Permanent Collection for future exhibitions.

The Compasso d'Oro is the world's most prestigious design award. "The Honorable Mention for Frammento Fatica n.26 is not only a prestigious tribute to a past project, but also a stimulus to continue innovating in the fields of art and design," said Maria Teresa Venturini Fendi, "and recognizes the Foundation's ongoing commitment, especially in projects dedicated to the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, of which it is the Main Partner." The Honorable Mention took on special significance in the year of the 70th anniversary of the Compasso d'Oro, established by Giò Ponti in 1954 to celebrate design excellence.
